Rowoon’s The Matchmakers Episode 2 Recap & Spoilers: What Happened When Jung-Woo & Met Joo-Daek Again?

Rowoon’s The Matchmakers episode 2 aired on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, on KBS. The Destined With You actor dons the role of matchmaker Sim Jung-Woo and seeks Yeo Joo-Daek’s (Cho Yi-Hyun) help to save his life.

Episode 1, which premiered on October 30, 2023, ended with the king ordering his son-in-law Jung-Woo to drink poison and declare him a traitor. Jung-Woo was married to the princess who died during the wedding ceremony. For the past eight years, the widower sent petitions to annul his marriage. The king was furious with his actions as they affected the crown prince’s marriage proposals.

In The Matchmakers episode 2, Jung-Woo smartly manages to save himself from the king’s punishment. However, he is tasked to marry off three sisters who have crossed their primal marital age, as per the Joseon custom. If he succeeds, the king promises to show him mercy.

Rowoon’s The Matchmakers episode 2 ending: Joo-Daek agrees to help Jung-Woo

Rowoon’s character, Jung-Woo, met Cho Yi-Hyun’s Yeo Joo-Daek in The Matchmakers episode 1. Although their encounter was funny, their chemistry was enough to make one’s heart flutter.

In episode 2, newly turned matchmaker Jung-Woo seeks the help of Joo-Daek, the best matchmaker in town. This time, he seemed excited to meet her. He approaches Joo-Daek, who falls asleep and dreams of her late husband. When Jung-Woo comes closer to her, she touches his shoulder, assuming he is her late spouse. The scene is beautifully filmed, showing Jung-Woo’s unsaid attraction towards her.

Soon after, the two come to their senses and return to having their usual hateful banter. Jung-Woo asks her to help him marry off the three daughters of Master Maeng, who have crossed their marital age. But his way of addressing the sisters irks Joo-Daek and she refuses to help. However, fate forces her to pursue the case, which leads to her agreeing to help Jung-Woo.

Throughout the episode, Rowoon does a tremendous job in bringing out his comedy talent. Yi-Hyun, on the other hand, was impressive as Joo-Daek, and her chemistry with her co-star was flawless in the drama.

The Matchmakers K-drama airs new episodes on Mondays and Fridays at 9:45 p.m. KST on KBS. The episodes are also available on Viki.
