Weak Hero Class 1 Season 2 Release Update: Producer Hints at Next Chapter

After the resounding success and popularity of Weak Hero Class 1, fans can rest easy knowing that the Wavve original thriller K-drama is going nowhere. The drama won the Best Original OTT Award at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards held on October 8, 2023, in Busan, South Korea.

While receiving the award, producer Kim Myung-jin hinted at a “Next Chapter,” and promised to continue to tell the story with even more strength. Weak Hero Class 1 premiered on November 18, 2022, and garnered a significant fanbase because of its storyline.

Weak Hero Class 1 Producer Hints at a Second Season

Producer Kim Myung-jin was overcome with emotion while receiving the award for Best Original OTT for the K-drama. Recalling when Weak Hero Class 1 was showcased at the Busan Film Festival last year, she said, “We received a lot of love as we met the audience. We’ve come this far thanks to that energy, and we plan to gather more strength to create the next chapter… We hope for a lot of anticipation and interest in this story as we will continue to tell it. Please remember that the upcoming stories will truly be about weak heroes.”

While the story is promised to continue, there have been no other updates as of yet.

Weak Hero Class 1 is based on the popular webtoon series of the same name. It follows the story of a high school student named Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), who is among the top 1% of his class. His life turns upside down when he gets bullied and decides to clap back, only to face dangerous consequences.

The cast of the thriller K-drama includes Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, Hong Kyung, Lee Yeon, Shin Seung-ho, Cha Woo-min, Kim Su-gyeom, Na Chul, and more. Yoo Soo-min serves as the director and writer alongside Seo Pae-su and Kim Jin-seok.
