Triptii Dimri’s debut movie Laila Majnu is gearing up to make a much-anticipated return to theaters in Kashmir. The romantic drama, originally released in 2018, will be re-released on August 2, 2024. This news comes as Bollywood films are gaining popularity in the region, following the successful reception of Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar.
Triptii Dimri’s debut film Laila Majnu to rerelease in Kashmir
Laila Majnu, which features the scenic beauty of Kashmir, is scheduled for a special rerelease at Inox Srinagar. This decision follows the enthusiastic response to Rockstar, another film that prominently featured Kashmir’s breathtaking landscapes. Inox Srinagar announced on Instagram, “#lailamajnu. Due to the overwhelming love and appreciation that #Rockstar received from movie buffs in the #Kashmir valley, we have decided to premiere Laila Majnu, which was also filmed in Kashmir, starting Friday, Aug 02. Advance Bookings will open soon.”
Laila Majnu is a modern adaptation of the classic Persian tale of Layla and Majnun. Directed by Sajid Ali and presented by Imtiaz Ali, the film features Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. The storyline follows the star-crossed lovers, Qais (Avinash Tiwary) and Laila (Triptii Dimri), whose romance faces societal and familial obstacles.
The excitement for the rerelease is palpable among the film’s cast and crew. Triptii Dimri shared her enthusiasm on Instagram, saying, “Superrr excited for this (heart eyes emojis) @avinashtiwary15 @imtiazaliofficial @preetyali #sajidali.”
Since the original release of Laila Majnu, both Avinash and Triptii have advanced in their careers. Avinash Tiwary’s recent film Madgaon Express, directed by Kunal Khemu, was a laughter riot and did well at the box office.
Speaking about the box office, Triptii Dimri’s recent release Bad Newz is performing strongly at the box office. The actor first catapulted into the limelight after her stint in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Additionally, Avinash and Triptii reunited for the horror drama film Bulbbul. It is currently streaming on Netflix.
All in all, as the rerelease date approaches, fans of the film and newcomers alike can look forward to experiencing this heart-wrenching film once more.
