Panchayat director reveals whether there will be season 4 and 5
Amazon Prime Video’s much awaited series Panchayat season 3 is gearing up to release on May 28, 2024. Just ahead of the upcoming release, the series Deepak Kumar Mishra confirmed there are plans for at least two more seasons.
According to Mishra, the team has already begun work on the fourth season. He mentioned, “We have started writing season four. For us, generally, there’s no break between two seasons. The third season is over, and we have written three to four episodes of season four.”
This confirmation comes as a relief to fans who have been eagerly awaiting updates on the future of the Panchayat series. Mishra added, “So far, we have thought about making season four and five. For season four, we have a clear idea, and there is a broader idea for season five.”
When asked about the approach for the upcoming seasons, Mishra emphasized the importance of staying true to the show’s essence. “We made sure that we made the right content and retained the core soul of the show. We wanted to take the story forward organically. However, we have to make sure that the new season is more entertaining and emotional,” he said.
Panchayat made its debut in 2020 and quickly became a hit with viewers, thanks to its relatable storyline and iconic characters. It follows Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who becomes a secretary at a panchayat office in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh.
The series features Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvika. Panchayat season 2, released in 2022, received an equally overwhelming response, solidifying the show’s popularity.
Now, with the confirmation of seasons 4 and 5, fans of the series have much to look forward to, along with the release of the Panchayat season 3 on Amazon Prime Video.
