Do Aur Do Pyaar Vs. Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Vidya Balan’s Movie Outperforms Debakar Banerjee’s Movie

Vidya Balan’s Do Aur Do Pyaar and Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 hit the silver screens on April 22, 2024. This clash, however, wasn’t without its challenges. The two films were in fierce competition with Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, resulting in a box office showdown. Now, the numbers are in for day 3, and Vidya Balan’s movie has outperformed Banerjee’s.

Do Aur Do Pyaar Vs. Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 collection day 3: Vidya Balan’s movie earns more than Dibakar Banerjee’s

Despite facing stiff competition from established heavyweights like Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, both Do Aur Do Pyaar and Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 managed to hold their ground, albeit with varying degrees of success.

Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s directorial Do Aur Do Pyaar experienced a notable surge in its box office performance on its third day of release. It opened with a lackluster start, with a domestic net collection of $65K. However, the film witnessed a remarkable 72.73 percent increase in collections on Saturday, raking in $113K. Furthermore, Sunday saw a further improvement, with the film earning $131K, bringing its total to $317K.

On the other hand, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, helmed by Dibakar Banerjee, struggled to gain momentum at the box office with lackluster performances on Friday and Saturday. The star-studded film earned 417K and $14K, respectively. However, the film salvaged some ground on Sunday, recording a net collection of $62K. Despite this uptick, the film’s total domestic net remained a mere $94K, with industry analysts labeling it a box office disaster.

The difference in performance between the two films is evident not only in their earnings but also in their audience occupancy rates. Do Aur Do Pyaar maintained an overall occupancy rate of 14.97 percent on Sunday, with fluctuations ranging from 8.21 percent in the morning to 20.63 percent in the evening. In contrast, LSD 2 struggled with a deplorable overall occupancy rate of 7.92 percent, failing to attract a significant audience throughout the day.

More details on Vidya Balan’s latest movie

As the box office battle rages on, it remains to be seen how both films will fare in the coming days, especially with the looming challenge of the crucial Monday test. Despite facing tough competition and mixed reviews, Vidya Balan’s Do Aur Do Pyaar has emerged as the dark horse, surpassing expectations and outperforming its rival Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 on day 3.

In the talks of the winner, Shirsha Guha recently spoke about what the film is all about amidst a flurry of reactions. She explained, “It’s not a film about infidelity, it’s about love. If it’s not working for you anymore, you’re in your right to find love where you do. The word infidelity has a connotation that is not really positive. Infidelity is a loaded term. We have tried to make sure people don’t see it (infidelity) as something we are either promoting or calling it wrong or right.”

Do Aur Do Pyaar and Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 are currently playing in nearby theaters.
