RJ Balaji’s latest coming-of-age film, Singapore Saloon, was released in theaters on January 25, 2024. This movie is penned and directed by Gokul and produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International. Meanwhile, following its theatrical run, viewers are awaiting its digital debut. Recent reports indicate that the movie is set to make its streaming debut in less than four weeks after its box-office run.
Aside from RJ Balaji, Singapore Saloon also features Meenakshi Chaudhary in the lead role. Also, Sathyaraj, Lal, Kishen Das, Ann Sheetal, Thalaivasal Vijay, John Vijay, and Robo Shankar are playing supporting roles. Additionally, viewers have also witnessed the cameo appearance of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Jiiva in the film.
The movie follows the story of a young barber, Kathir, who is inspired by a local barber in his village to open his saloon named Singapore Saloon. The story primarily focuses on social issues, self-confidence, and even devotional and environmental content. It also unfolds the challenges faced by Kathir in the pursuit of his dream.
For those unaware, the official announcement of the film came in November 2022. The principal photography began earlier that year and concluded by mid-December 2022 in Chennai. Additional photography took place in May 2023. M. Sukumar handled the cinematography, and Selva R.K. edited the film.

As mentioned earlier, RJ Balaji’s latest drama film is set to make its streaming debut in less than four weeks following its box-office debut. The movie will be available for streaming on Tentkotta starting February 23, 2024. On February 17, the platform officially confirmed that the Singapore Saloon is coming to you starting from February 23. However, it is important to note that this movie will be available for audiences outside India for the time being.
For those unaware, as per the Tentkotta X (Twitter) account, it is the Premier Legal Streaming Platform for Non-Indian Audiences. Meanwhile, the Indian viewers will have to wait to experience its digital debut. Furthermore, the makers are yet to unveil the streaming partner details in India.
