Why did Adi move to Mumbai?

The film begins with Aditya “Adi” Gunjal who moves to Mumbai to work at a gaming company. He aspires to become a successful video game developer in the United States. His life takes an unexpected turn when he spots a girl at a railway station, seemingly about to jump in front of a train. This shocking sight leads Adi to shout out in horror, but the girl quickly disappears.

Adi settles into the house of Gopi Srivastava, his elder brother’s senior, a retired High Court judge. Gopi lives with his wife Charu, a renowned Hindustani classical singer who suffers from stage two Alzheimer’s disease. On his first day at work, encouraged by his friend Bantee, Adi pitches his game idea “Mumbai 2.0” to his boss. The idea immediately impresses Adi’s boss and Adi earns a deadline of five months to prepare a prototype for a competition in Los Angeles.

At a friend’s wedding, Adi encounters the same girl he saw at the station. She introduces herself as Tara Agnihotri. They discover a shared skepticism about marriage and begin to develop a bond. Tara reveals that her act at the station was to escape her ex-boyfriend’s marriage proposal. The two spend time together, exploring the city, and Adi even follows Tara to Ahmedabad on a work trip. During their time together, they discuss their aspirations and past. Tara shares her reluctance to marry due to her parents’ broken marriage.

Did Gopi accept Adi and Tara’s request?

Deciding to live together before pursuing their respective careers abroad, Adi and Tara request this arrangement to Gopi and Charu. Initially reluctant, Gopi agrees after Tara impresses Charu with her classical singing. However, complications arise when Adi’s family, unaware of his living situation, plans a surprise visit. Adi’s sister-in-law discovers he’s living with Tara and cautions her about the difficult choices she might face between love and career.

As Tara’s admission to an institute in Paris is approved, she struggles with the thought of leaving Adi and confides in Gopi. Meanwhile, Adi misses Tara deeply when she travels to Jaipur for work. Adi is then called to Kanpur by Tara’s sophisticated mother, who wants to understand her daughter’s wish, leading to Tara’s distress upon finding Adi gone upon her return.

Observing Gopi’s loving patience with Charu, especially when she goes missing due to her Alzheimer’s, Tara and Adi realize the depth of their feelings for each other. Amidst these challenges, Tara’s mother approaches Adi’s family to discuss marriage, which upsets Tara. Simultaneously, Adi’s game is selected for the competition in Los Angeles.

Ok Jaanu ending: Did Tara and Adi end up together?

With their impending departures looming, Adi and Tara decide to make the most of their remaining ten days together. After another incident of finding Charu, who had gone missing again, Adi proposes marriage to Tara, and they get married in Gopi’s house, surrounded by close friends and family.

Post-marriage, the film shows that both Adi and Tara continue to pursue their dreams in Paris and Los Angeles, respectively, maintaining their relationship long-distance, with hopes of reuniting.

The end credits present their future in an animated sequence, depicting them eventually living together and starting a family, bringing a heartwarming conclusion to their love story.
