With the Pongal festivities winding down, the film’s Tuesday collections are still impressive. As reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, Guntur Kaaram’s box-office collection on day 5 is $1.38 million. Even though this is a slight dip from the earlier days, the film has amassed a total of $11.3 million domestically, inching closer to the coveted $12 million mark.

As it is now, with the conclusion of the four-day Pongal holidays, the film is poised to enter its second weekend. Hence, a crucial phase that will determine its estimated lifetime collection. Industry analysts predict that the movie’s box-office performance during this period will play an important role in shaping its overall success.

In addition, Guntur Kaaram faced stiff competition upon its release. On January 12, 2024, four major movies were released. It included Dhanush’s Captain Miller, Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh’s Ayalaan, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s Merry Christmas, and the sci-fi fantasy Telugu release HanuMan. The latter emerged as the clear winner, as its box-office number so far matches with its pan-India release.

Additionally, Mahesh Babu shed light on a distinctive aspect of his role in Guntur Kaaram. The actor discussed that he only smoked ayurvedic beedi’s with no tobacco in it. However, he doesn’t smoke in real life and also won’t encourage smoking.
