After the theatrical release on December 29, 2023, Darshan Thoogudeepa‘s Kaatera is now set for its digital debut on February 9, 2024. Reportedly, the makers of the film have successfully secured both digital and satellite rights with Zee Network.
Kaatera has already surpassed the $9.1 million mark in worldwide box office collections. The film has made its opening with a collection of $1.3 million in India net collection. As of this writing, Darshan’s film holds a rating of 8.4/10 with around 2.4k votes on IMDb. Additionally, BookMyShow has rated Kaatera with 9.3/10 based on 53.7k votes.
The plot is set against the rustic backdrop of the 1970s and revolves around a rural issue when landlords held the dominant positions. Kaatera, a blacksmith, is fighting for farmers’ rights and wants to implement the Land Reforms Act. So, he takes crucial steps to help everyone escape the atrocities of the landlords.
When is Darshan’s Kaatera coming out on OTT?
With its action-packed scenes, Kaatera has generated significant buzz among the audience. As per reports, the makers have successfully locked both digital and satellite rights with Zee Network. The film will be available for digital streaming within 45 days, which is to be expected from February 9, 2024. Thus, viewers can access Kaatera exclusively on Zee5 Kannada.
In addition, Kaatera has received positive reviews from critics and has become the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2023. Directed by Tharun Sudhir, the film is produced by Rockline Venkatesh under the banner of Rockline Entertainments. Meanwhile, Sudhakar S. Raj and K. M. Prakash took charge of cinematography and editing, respectively.
The film features blockbuster actor Darshan Thogudeepa alongside Aradhana Ram, Jagapathi Babu, Shruti, and Kumar Govind, among others. Interestingly, Kaatera is Aradhana Ram’s debut movie.
