Prabhas‘ blockbuster movie, Salaar, is back to collecting great numbers at the box office worldwide, with a total of $72 million so far.
Prashanth Neel wrote and directed the movie while Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films produced it. It also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju. Salaar serves as the first instalment of a two-part series. The movie premiered in theatres on December 22, 2023.

Salaar earns over $72 million worldwide on day 17
On day 17, Salaar’s box office collection remained almost consistent with its Saturday collections, after recording a slight jump but also staying on course to collect $48 million in India.
As per reports, Salaar stood at $70.8 million globally after day 16, and taking into account its Sunday collection, the total is estimated to be above $72 million. Although the total collections have been huge, the movie has been underperforming since its historic start on opening day.
As for its domestic collection, Salaar is aiming to cross the $48 million mark in India. The movie is inching closer to entering the INR 500 crore club ($60 million). According to reports, the Prabhas starrer clocked in an estimated $727 thousand on its third Sunday.
The Telugu collections are reportedly already down to the $120,000 range. This means that the Hindi version will determine Salaar’s lifetime collection now. Out of the total collection of $655 thousand on its third Saturday, the movie made $168 thousand in Telugu and $451 thousand in Hindi. Its Hindi version has collected over $17 million so far.
The movie collected $37 million in its first week, followed by a collection of $8 million in its second week in India. On day 15, Salaar is estimated to have earned $655 thousand, while on day 16, it managed to collect $727 thousand.
