Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 has emerged as a powerhouse. Within the days of its release on November 12, 2023, the film has been breaking records and setting milestones. The espionage thriller, produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), has steadily crossed the $48 million mark globally. Tiger 3’s day 11 box office collection is a mixture of losses as well as gains.

YRF recently took to Instagram to proudly announce the film’s induction into the $48 million club globally. The post featured a striking poster of Tiger 3, with the caption declaring it as the “highest-grossing Diwali release in history.” The film amassed a staggering $48.25 million worldwide, with India contributing $35.76 million. Additionally, the overseas market contributed $12.30 million.
This global win, however, did not shield the film from criticism. Despite crossing the $48 million mark globally, Tiger 3 faces criticism for being an underperformer, considering its big budget and sky-high expectations.
On its 11th day of release, Tiger 3 added $0.68 million to its domestic box office. However, it continued a trend of marginal day-to-day drops. The film’s total domestic collection, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, stands at $29.88 million.
Produced at a reported cost of $36 million, Tiger 3 enjoyed a blockbuster opening on Diwali as it collected a whopping $5.2 million on a Sunday. However, the celebratory mood took a hit post-Bhai Dooj. Moreover, it was further dampened by Team India’s progress at the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup. The film’s daily collection since then has been in constant decline.
The film reported a nationwide Hindi-language occupancy of 11% with the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions gradually fading from circulation. As the film faces a relative lack of competition in the current market, a new challenge looms in the coming days. With the release of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur on December 1, Tiger 3 might face a fierce battle for box office supremacy.
