DEMONS 2 Star Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni Becomes Lady Macbeth in LADY M 5.1

Artist, musician and Italian horror actress Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni takes a stab at Macbeth.

Today is William Shakespeare’s birthday, he being perhaps the greatest and most influential writers and dramatists in human history.

Indeed, we own much to the man. Certainly, the horror genre owes its shirt to his often perverse pen.

In honor of the Bard’s B-day, actress and artist and Dario Argento muse Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni (DEMONS 2, MOTHER OF TEARS, OPERA) and director MARIANO BAINO (DARK WATERS) have announced their latest project, the short film LADY M 5.1, a salute that most deranged of fatal females from one of Shakespeare’s most brutal works, Lady Macbeth.

Says Coralina:

Mariano and I have been working tirelessly on producing our feature film, ASTRIDS SAINTS, and, consumed by all the business meetings, we felt that we needed a creative endeavor to remember who we are and why we chose to be artists playing Lady Macbeth was something that had been on my mind for some time now, and so we went for it.

I was delighted to join Coralina on this adventure,” adds Baino, “Shakespeare’s incredible insight into human nature, coupled with his timeless sense of drama and entertainment has intrigued and fascinated me for a long time. I relished the chance to adapt his work for the screen.

From working together on the films production design, to Baino adapting and coming up with the story, editing, designing and hand-making all the creatures which inhabit Lady Macbeths surreal world, to Cataldi-Tassoni writing the original music score and creating the costumes, these two passionately committed artists are also, at the same time, “very aware and grateful that, thanks to the invaluable work of the team from CHERRY BAR FILMS,LLC, comprised of LADY M 5.1s Director of Photography Andrew Libert and Associate Producer David Hand, and the wonderful collaboration of the rest of the small but dedicated crew”, today they can finally unveil, to their loyal and loving fans, this homage to Shakespeare and share it with them on this celebratory day.
