Rob Zombie’s 31 Acquired by Saban Films

Rob Zombie’s latest clown-centric shocker gets distro.

Rob Zombie’s latest sideshow horrorshow, 31, is getting some positive reviews since its premiere at Sundance (read our glowing review here) and today, Saban Films have announced that they’ve picked up the North American distro rights.

31 stars RZ regulars Sheri Moon Zombie, Malcolm McDowell, Jeff Daniel Phillips and Meg Foster (THE LORDS OF SALEM) in a story of a truly psycho circus from the guts of hell itself.

Saban aims to give the film a September 16th release.

“31 is a treat not just to horror fans, but fans of true auteur filmmaking,” said Saban Films President Bill Bromiley. “The film is executed in true stylistic Zombie fashion. Rob is an unrivaled talent, and we are thrilled to bring his bold new film to audiences across the continent.”

“After meeting with Saban, it was obvious that this was the perfect home for 31,” said Rob Zombie. “They have a true understanding of the genre and how to handle it. I am very excited to work with them.”

Love him or don’t, no other contemporary artist has branded his distinct persona on pop culture in a myriad media quite like Zombie.

Are you looking forward to the film?
