Italian horror is alive and well in the meaty trailer for VIRUS: EXTREME CONTAMINATION.
The latest film from screenwriter Antonio Tentori (Bruno Mattei‘s ZOMBIES THE BEGINNING, Dario Argento’s DRACULA 3D), the Italian/Albanian outbreak gorefest VIRUS: EXTREME CONTAMINATION has just dropped a new trailer.
And it’s really gross and awesome.
“Freely based” on the oft-mined H.P. Lovecraft tale The Colour Out of Space, the Dominziano Cristopharo directed film charts the chunk-blowing adventures of an Italian scientist who moves to Kosovo to study the impact of a meteorite that is the cause of some strange events. Once there, he discovers that the object has been moved in a near military base where all the people were turned into dangerous, deadly creatures.
We love that the title references two of Italian horror’s most beloved splatter epics, Mattei’s HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD and Luigi Cozzi’s CONTAMINATION.
And we really love that there is a renewed pulse in the indie Italian film industry…
