Win a copy of PAINKILLERS from RLJ Entertainment and SHOCK.
Director Peter Winther’s mind-bending, supernatural sci-fi psychothriller PAINKILLERS streeted last Tuesday on DVD and Digital Video from our friends at RLJ Entertainment. And the get some excitement rocking ’round the title, they’ve given us two copies to give away to one of you maniacal readers…
PAINKILLERS is a creepy, modestly budgeted hybrid of THE TWILIGHT ZONE paranoia, muscular action and supernatural shudders. And, best of all, Canadian screen and stage legend Colm Feore is in it.
Feore (recently seen in TV’s GOTHAM) is one of the greatest actors of our time, a sort of secret handshake thespian that is in, like, everything. And whether you notice or not, the man classes up any production gracing him. The obvious example? The TV adaptation of STEPHEN KING’s STORM OF THE CENTURY. Imagine that film without Colm Feore: you can’t.
PAINKILLERS stars some other actors like BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA’s Tamoh Penikett and SMALLVILLE’s Erica Durance. But COLM FEORE, man!
Here’s the synopsis:
PAINKILLERS tells the story of a squad of marines sent on a classified mission deep in the war-torn mountains of Afghanistan, but when they find the mysterious item they were sent for
its not what they were expecting. The next thing they know, Major Cafferty (Penikett) and the surviving squad members wake-up in a military medical facility with no memory of what happened or even who they are. Using an experimental drug, doctors try to reboot the soldiers memories, but one by one they fall prey to bizarre hallucinations and homicidal fits of rage. Only through snatches of resurfacing memories does Cafferty begin to question the true motives of the hospital staff and discover the shocking, deadly reality behind the otherworldly artifact they found.
