Those are the words told to ShockTillYouDrop when we spoke to guitarist-tuned-film-producer Slash back in July about his supernatural thriller The Hell Within.
Maybe he’s changed his mind, because it’s being announced that Slash has joined with the Revolver Picture Company to produce an untitled ’80s style slasher flick, written by Boogeyman 2 and 3 screenwriter Brian Sieve.
The project came out of a meeting that Slash had with Kelly Wagner and Nick Phillips of Revolver, best known for the IFC Midnight releases Beneath and Haunt from 2013 and 2014 ,respectively. They’re currently working on the psychological thriller Pet, starring Dominic Monaghan, Ksenia Solo and Jennette McCurdy.
Besides the currently in development The Hell Within, Slash previously produced the 2013 horror movie Nothing Left to Fear.
In the press release, Phillips said about Slash, “We knew he was into horror movies so we had big long dinner. He gets it, from the old Universal classics to the 70s, and yes, excitedly for us, the 80s,” to which his partner added, He had been thinking along similar lines as us. It was serendipitous.
Slash also gave the following quote: “They had an idea that tied in perfectly with a theme that I was working on at the time. From there, together with Brian Sieve, I think we developed something awesome.”
So there you have it, Slash is officially making a slasher!
