Brooklyns Nitehawk Cinema has grown beautifully since its opening in 2011, becoming a warm haven for film lovers of all kind, as well as admirers of eating and drinking well while watching them. Their programming runs the gamut from current indie favorites to the strange and artful, to really exciting genre repertory work. Last year, Nitehawk Shorts Fest expanded to truly reflect the variety of work it and its programmers are interested in, while spotlighting one of the most thrilling aspects of film festival: short films! One such addition was the Midnite section. I was very pleased to be a part of the festival as a programmer (and especially that Midnite area) and even more pleased to announce Im returning in the same capacity. Submissions are now open.
