International Trailer: Shyamalan’s The Visit

Largely similar, there’s also a sense that this French trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit is just a bit gnarlier.

It could be that the first big moment of horror—a very witchy grandma, naked and scratching the walls—is less obscured in shadow than the U.S. trailer, revealing more of her strange, upsetting state. It could be the great repetition of excuses…”They’re just weird people… They’re just old.” Either way, this still looks a great surprise and creepily hopeful work from the filmmaker, who looks to have gotten his footing in suspense and dread back on track.

Produced by Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures and Blumhouse, The Visit concerns “a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.” The Visit is out September 11th in the U.S. from Universal.
