Twin Peaks and Duchovny on Denise: I Hope She Comes Back

Though talk of a new, limited X-Files series has begun in earnest, many have been asking David Duchovny the wrong series revival questions. Thankfully, the LA Times went ahead and inquired as to the whereabouts of Twin Peaks’ Agent Denise Bryson.

A bright spot in Twin Peaks’ infamous second season slump—which plays better upon revisiting—transgender DEA Agent Denise Bryson was one of Duchovny’s first major roles. Denise first appeared in season’s eleventh episode, which aired December 15th, 1990, three years prior to the X-Files premiere.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Duchovny said of both Peaks and Denise, “I think Twin Peaks is happening for sure. I hope my character comes back, I think she does.”

Twin Peaks is set to return to television in 2016, airing in a nine-episode season on Showtime. The new iteration will be written by co-creators and producers Mark Frost and David Lynch and directed entirely by Lynch. Most recently, Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee were all confirmed to return.
