The character appeared in Thomas Harris’ novel “Hannibal” and in the Ridley Scott adaptation. Verger was portrayed by Gary Oldman, his visage terribly scarred making the actor virtually unrecognizable.
More good news? Verger is going to now be played by Michael Pitt of Funny Games and Boardwalk Empire! Pretty wild and a perfect fit.
