I Know What You Did Last Summer Director is Back With Take Down

Jim Gillespie is returning to the thriller scene for his first project since 2005’s Venom.  According to Variety, he’ll next helm Take Down, a film “about a group of rich youngsters trying to defeat criminals who are to abduct them from far-flung boarding school.”  The director made his feature debut in the ’90s with I Know What You Did Last Summer.  He followed that up with D-Tox, starring Sylvestor Stallone.

Then, in 2005, he helmed the supernatural bayou tale Venom which starred Agnes Bruckner, Method Man, Laura Ramsey and Meagan Good.  The magic snakes in the picture landed him in director jail, I presume.

Take Down was written by Alexander Ignon, who also penned Ransom, so this feels like it’s in his wheelhouse.  Casting begins soon…
