Shawn Levy Out, New Director In for Fox’s Frankenstein

Variety reports that Shawn Levy will no longer being at the helm of 20th Century Fox’s Frankenstein project.  At the time of this writing, the trade does not offer a reason why – but we can presume the decision stems from a variety of reaons, be it scheduling, or budget, or creative differences.  We don’t really know.  Don’t fret, there’s a new director circling the project.

According to Variety, Paul McGuigan is in talks to direct.  He also helmed Lucky Number Slevin and Push.

The new Frankenstein was penned by Chronicle‘s Max Landis.

Earlier this year, there were reports that “budgetary concerns” plagued the project, which may have prompted Levy to finally throw his hands up and walk away.

The film concerns the relationship between Victor Frankenstein and Igor.
