An MPAA Update on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, Trailer Coming Soon?

Presently, Lionsgate is aiming to release the film on January 4th and, today, the MPAA weighed in, giving it an R rating (duh) for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.”

This rating announcement could mean that a trailer is just around the corner.  I’m suspecting we might see something riding along with the release of The Possession next week, which Lionsgate is handling.  Makes sense.

Directed by John Luessenhop, the new film – a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s first film – stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Sue Rock, Scott Eastwood, Bill Moseley, Gunnar Hansen, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae and Richard Riehle.

This is the first Leatherface romp we’ve had since Platinum Dunes gave us the 2003 remake and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.

With the Halloween season drawing near, I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more about TCM3D soon.
