A few of you asked for further thoughts on the film from me because, as I said earlier, I thought it was good, not great. But, between then and now, I’ve become increasingly frustrated by the film’s flaws. I still stand by the fact that it’s a well-crafted film with terrific performances, however, I’m irked by the script, it’s attempts at twists – which sometimes fail – the “promise” its first act sets up and ultimately does not pay off and its denoument which I think was a bit silly (I don’t want to get into spoilers). The bottom line for me is Prometheus feels like one of the many Alien cash-ins we saw in the wake of Alien‘s release, however, this one has star power, a budget and a vision. It has a weak core, though.
That’s just me. Now, what do you have to say?
