Mark Andrew Smith and James Stokoe’s graphic novel Sullivan’s Sluggers might be heading to the screen. Broken Road Productions and Terra Firma Films have teamed up to produce the project. According to THR, Tom and Tim Mullen are penning the script.
The synopsis goes like this: Long past their former glory, the minor league Sluggers get an invitation to play a baseball game in a cursed small town. After the 7th inning stretch, the sun goes down, and the dysfunctional teammates find themselves fighting for their lives against a town of flesh-eating monsters! Now, its up to coach Casey Sullivan to help his team escape from being the next dish in the towns terrifying feeding frenzy!
Sullivan’s Sluggers was originally solicited as an Image Comics title until its creators opted to go the Kickstarter route and raise the funds themselves to publish the book. They’ve well exceeded their goal.
