This seems like a natural fit… THR reports Scott Z. Burns is being brought in to work on the script for the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Burns also penned the viral thriller Contagion. He’ll be working from a draft by Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa, writers of last year’s Apes hit which showed the human race was on the verge of a viral outbreak. We presume the sequel will thrust the audience right into full scale viral mayhem.
THR says Ruper Wyatt is returning to direct and Andy Serkis will once again reprise his motion capture duties as Caesar. 20th Century Fox announced in April that a sequel was definitely going into development.
