Could it be? A film about the haunted attraction industry? Paramount and Plantinum Dunes is moving forward on an original genre project called The Hauntrepreneur.
According to Variety, “the story revolves around a family that has trouble adjusting to a new town and hires a peculiar man who calls himself the Hauntrepreneur to help them. In an attempt to bring them together, the man creates a haunted house filled with an odd cast of characters.”
Here’s the rub…
Variety says that Russell Brand – ex-Mr. Katie Perry himself – has been locked in to star. Paramount has not confirmed the cast.
Platinum Dunes, of course, produced remakes Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror. The company’s producers – Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form – are vying to get a slate of original projects off the ground, however, they are also developing The Monster Squad and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
