Joost and Schulman Returning for Paranormal Activity 4?

As we’ve been suspecting, and hearing through our own channels, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman of Paranormal Activity 3 appear to be returning to direct Paranormal Activity 4.  We were awaiting confirmation, but the fellas a Bloody jumped at the opportunity to break it first – they’re still waiting for confirmation as well.

Joost and Schulman previously helmed Catfish.  Paranormal Activity 3 proved that they could deliver the scares and, hell, if it worked for Paramount once already, why not invite them back?

The fourth film was announced earlier this week and is on track for an October 19 release.

Now, one thing I want to bring up.  Outlets are suspecting Paramount chose that release date to avoid October 26, a date staked out by Dimension Films for Halloween 3D.  At the time of this writing, I don’t believe there is any movement on another Michael Myers flick.  The last I heard, the brothers Weinstein were still trying to figure out what to do, so Halloween 3D might not make that date.

Then again, it might.  Rob Zombie had a speedy turnaound on Halloween II which he shot in the late winter/early spring and was ready for the end of the summer it was released.
