Variety is reporting today that photographer Tyler Shields has been tapped to direct a new thriller entitled Final Girl.
Prospect Park is shepherding this project which concerns a young woman who has been targeted by a pack of teenage boys as part of sick “initiation.” What they don’t know is that she’s about to turn the tables on them. The screenplay is by Steve Scarlata, Alejandro Seri and Johnny Silver.
“Final Girl” is a popular term in the genre, representing the final girl standing at the end of a slasher film.
What’s interesting about this story is this is the second “final girl” movie to be announced this month. Last week, New Line announced its own project, a horror-comedy called Final Girls.
