Rob Zombie Passes Along a Message On PETA’s Thanksgiving Hotline

Butterball’s Talk-Line, “Halloween 3” mention

PETA reached out to Shock today to let us know that Rob Zombie, director of the upcoming The Lords of Salem, contributed a special Thanksgiving message. Zombie has been a big supporter of PETA for many years. I’m re-posting what the PETA rep shared with me, to give you a better idea of what Zombie is doing.

Calling the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line and listening to tips about how to boil, broil, roast, and toast the bodies of gentle, smart, and social birds sounds more like the plot of an upcoming horror film than a cooking resource. So PETA teamed up with musician, horror-movie legend, and creator of the soon-to-be-released The Lords of Salem and Halloween III Rob Zombie to record its 2011 holiday hotline message.

PETA’s holiday hotline encourages people to make the holiday season one of compassion by refusing to eat tortured birds. Our hotline encourages callers to visit GoVeg.com for tips on preparing vegan meals that are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

Interesting that the press release states he’s the “creator” of the upcoming Halloween III. (Probably nothing worth getting worked up over, after all, he is the vision behind the recent series and the third film is rumored to take place immediately after his Halloween II. It certainly doesn’t imply he’s back for the next film.)
