Stephen King Has Something to Say About Carrie

He thinks it’d be fun to cast

Entertainment Weekly sparingly uses it since he left the magazine, but when they have to, they pick up that ol’ telephone to the “horror god” Stephen King to sound off on a variety of topics.

Today, they got him to comment on the Carrie remake recently set up at Screen Gems. Here’s what he had to say:

“Iâ??ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie Whiteâ?¦ hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg.”

And there you have it. But knowing Screen Gems, they’ll get a no-name “visionary” and simply churn out a turd.
