Joe Cornish’s film Attack the Block is something that was on our radar, but it was hard to determine whether it was Shock-worthy. Well, a trailer’s hit and we say, hell yeah, it’s worth our time! The trailer just premiered in anticipation of the film’s UK release in May. Block will also play to SXSW audiences as well.
Cornish told the BBC the film is “a comedy-horror. For me the comedy and horror only works if the horror is frightening, then the laughter is a release. I think if you’re laughing in a comedy-horror without fear then maybe it’s just a comedy.”
What’s it about? A bunch of punk kids defending their turf from an alien invasion. Nick Frost of Shaun of the Dead co-stars.
