Mirada is there for storytellers
You know it’s a sad state of affairs in Hollywood when a production company is launched and they’re main promise is to be there for “storytellers.”
Isn’t that what every production company should be? Isn’t that what we’re in the business of? Telling stories?
I digress…
Guillermo del Toro, Mathew Cullen, cinematographer Guillermo Navarro and Javier Jimenez are banding together for Mirada, a production company del Toro describes as “a storytelling engine in the form of a company. We see a different model that looks beyond what the market is doing right now to where it will be in ten years.”
The company opened its doors today and, according to The Wrap, “houses design, animation, post and visual effects, an art department, a sound stage and a full camera shop.”
Sounds amazing. I wonder if Jovanka Vuckovic’s Captured Bird will be taking advantage of this facility.
