What’s the story with season two?
There’s a choice bit of gossip at Deadline about the second season of The Walking Dead.
According to the site, the season one writing staff will not be returning for the show’s sophomore run. Instead, Frank Darabont and company will be seeking freelancer writers to take on the 13-episode run.
This hasn’t been confirmed and nothing is final, as Deadline is quick to say.
Sources tell us that it’s still too early to tell what’s happening with the second season. The Walking Dead team is on a brief break before they leap into season two and a lot of potential writers and directors are on the table, including one very familiar name in the horror genre. While I’m sure Darabont is considering his options, no real decisions are going to be made until after the turn of the year.
