Playing H.H. Holmes…
There was a time Leonardo DiCaprio was in talks to play Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Christian Bale went on to essay the role, but it appears DiCaprio has still been yearning to play a serial killer.
It has been announced the actor will portray H.H. Holmes in The Devil in the White City, culled from Erik Larson’s non-fiction novel. Henry Howard Holmes (aka Herman Webster Mudgett) amassed a high body count in the 1800s, confessing to 27 murders, however, he could be responsible for as many as 200.
DiCaprio’s Appian Way will produce the film.
