Will Joe Dante Be Involved in a Gremlins 3?

If the studio ever made another…

If Gremlins 3 ever happened, Joe Dante doesn’t want to be in the director’s chair.

“I don’t think so. I think it’s probably time for me to let somebody new take a shot at it,” he told IGN in a recent interview to promote the UK release of The Hole 3D. “I did Gremlins 2, which was my deconstruction of Gremlins, and I don’t want to do a deconstruction of both of them.”

And what was Small Soldiers, then?

Dante said there are no plans right now for another Gremlins, but if one were to happen, he’s ready to accept a remake. “A lot of directors have sat back and watched people remake or re-imagine their films. We forget that a lot of the films that we like the most and are classics are actually remakes of films that are not as well-known.”
