WB Wants Supernatural’s Kripke for Sandman

Based on the Vertigo comic book

Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” was integral reading for me growing up in the late-’80s/early-’90s. Macabre. Fantastic. Fascinating. The Vertigo comic book was, let’s be honest, some weird and mature stuff.

Well, dismiss the notion of a feature film based on the property. Warner Bros. Television has picked up the rights from DC Comics and the execs at the WB are looking at Eric Kripke as possibly running the show. Kripke, you may already know, was the showrunner on the hit series Supernatural.

Although he’s still involved with that title, he has handed showrunner duties over to Sera Gamble for the sixth season.

Gaiman himself is not officially involved yet, but as THR is right to speculate, that may change. It’s still a bit early in development. Kripke isn’t a lock, but stay tuned for confirmations as they come in.
