Meat Grinder: The UK’s Most Graphic Release?

Stay far away from this noodle stand

The BBFC have just passed Tiwa Moeithaisong’s Meat Grinder as an 18 certificate completely uncut.

The film is hitting UK DVD on August 23 through 4Digital Media.

Here’s a sensational excerpt from the press release we’ve received: Throughout the film, viewers are exposed to a sumptuous feast of murder and cannibalism with gruesome scenes including nails being hammered through fingernails and multiple dismemberment of limbs. The horror is so gory that several reviewers have been unable to make it through watching the entire film, and audiences are being warned not to eat before seeing the film.

Meat Grinder stars Mai as a deranged woman who runs a noodle stall and is hearing voices in her head all the time. When she finds a dying man in her stall one night, she gets the idea to chop him up, and grind the body parts into meatballs as ingredients for her noodle soup. It turns out to be a popular dish, and as the stall gets more and more business, she must find a steady supply of fresh human meat to feed her customers..

Even the company distributing the film doubted that it could ever be released in the UK uncut.

Tony Taglienti, Managing Director at 4 Digital Media says: “Despite the fact that Meat Grinder is beautifully shot, has an interesting storyline and is clearly not filmed just for the gore like many other films, it is definitely brutal throughout and contains some scenes which are particularly excruciating to watch. We were expecting the BBFC to send us to the cutting room before being able to release it. We are pleased that this is not the case and applaud their decision to let the public have the chance to watch it as the filmmakers intended.”

Is MEAT GRINDER the most graphic gore film ever passed by the BBFC? Is it worse than Hostel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Saw? The public can now decide for themselves…
