Bill Nighy Toplining Peter Straub’s Shadowland?

The 1980 story of evil and magic

Peter Straub’s 1980 novel “Shadowland” is being prepped for the screen in 3D (of course, it is).

PFG Entertainment is spearheading this endeavor and, through their website, they announced actors Bill Nighy (Underworld, Shaun of the Dead) and Natalie Dormer (The Tudors) are on board to star.

Writer Larry Leahy (Confession of a Hitman) adapted Straub’s tale of a young university student who is lured by a charismatic old gentleman into a world of magic, but is forced to decide whether or not to join the forces of evil to save the life of his best friend. One could presume Nighy is playing the “old gentelman.”

At the helm is Canadian Erik Canuel who has spent some time bouncing between features and television.
