Warner Acquires Splice, Sets Release Date

Vincenzo Natali’s film going wide

Warner Bros. is going to be giving Vincenzo Natali’s Splice, starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley, on June 4.

The news comes in the wake of rumors that stated the film might be acquired by Dark Castle (a genre division of the studio). Sources tell us a trailer for the creature feature is currently in the works.

Natali talked to us exclusively about the film before its Sundance premiere. Brody and Polley play geneticists who combine human and animal DNA and create a being that is out of their control. Given the word out of Sundance about this one was mostly that the film is “weird” and “wild,” I’ll be curious to see what audiences nationwide will think about it.
