Get your orders in before Christmas
The Alamo Drafthouse in Texas has a great thing going. In addition to their incredible selection of revival screenings, they’ve enlisted some gifted artists to whip up new posters for the films they’re showing.
This has been going on for some time now, but it wasn’t until a little over a week ago, I ventured to a Hollywood gallery to view some of the Drafthouse posters and pick up a print they did for Gremlins. These guys are bringing “art” back to the business of film promotion.
Their work can be found at MondoTees.com and the reason for this news item is because two new posters for Tremors and Basket Case have been unveiled by artist Alex Pardee. He’ll be signing prints on December 1 at the Drafthouse – more details can be found here. As that link says, any leftovers from the signing (tees, prints) will be sold online on December 2, so keep your eyes peeled.
