How Far Will the Saw Series Go?

Producer Mark Burg gives us the scoop!

Rumors have run rampant. There will be nine Saw films. Ten. But the truth to just how far Jigsaw’s legacy will go remains to be seen.

Nearly a week out from the release of Saw VI, opening October 23, producer Mark Burg of Twisted Pictures informs us, “We’re definitely making [part] seven. We’re shooting in January and it’s going to be in 3-D.”

But you already knew that. Returning to the director’s chair for the seventh entry is David Hackl with a script by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. Beyond that, however?

“The storyline that we started in five and carries through six ends in Saw VIII,” says Burg. “Where it goes beyond that I couldn’t tell you. In my mind and Oren [Koules]’ mind, we have the story threaded through part eight. I can’t tell you the franchise will continue after that.”
