Paintball Just Got Real (Dangerous)

Director, writer attached to Filmax feature

When I think of paintball, I think Friday the 13th: Jason Lives and the corporate dorks playing war games in the woods until they cross a recently-resurrected Voorhees’ path.

Filmax International is now taking paintball into survival horror territory with the aptly-titled Paintball, the story of, well, corporate dorks who venture out into the woods to fire balls of colored goo at one another until one of their own gets picked off for real. Then their numbers start to dwindle and paranoia ensues.

The thriller first cropped up on our radar at the American Film Market 2007. Since then, Filmax has attached director Daniel Benmayor and writer Mario Schoendorff to jump into the skirmish. Rec‘s Julio Fernandez is producing. No word yet on a production start.
