Amityville Scribe Goes Down River

Lord of the Flies on the Amazon

Sheldon Turner (The Amityville Horror) has sold a pitch to Regency that’s touted as an “adventure thriller,” but we’ll see if it warrants further attention here at Shock – the premise is intriguing enough.

Turner’s story sets four young executives down the Amazon river on an adventure trip. When their guide is killed they’re forced to contend with the wildlife, the locals…and themselves.

According to THR, “Turner came up with the idea for an adult “Lord of the Flies” after hearing stories of studio executives crowing about their annual “roughing it” nature trips that always ended up with the men retiring in the evenings to plush, Four Seasons-like lodgings.”
