Must-see viewing before Quarantine arrives
It’s rare that we discuss discs released overseas, but this is a special case. One the scariest films we’ve seen in recent memory, Rec (review), is getting a DVD release on May 28th in Spain.
Single-disc, 2-disc special edition and Blu Ray presentations are in the works at Filmax Home Video. You can find specs and disc art for all three beginning here (scroll to the bottom of that page for more). Consider the fact that you’ll likely need a region-free player before pre-ordering (which is not an option at ZonaDVD yet).
Directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, Rec traps a television reporter, her camera man and others in an apartment complex for one hellish evening. It serves as a template for the Dowdle Bros. upcoming U.S. remake called Quarantine.
There are no domestic release plans for Rec at the time of this writing.
