Dickerson and the Un-Dead?

Sequel to Stoker novel finally takes flight

It appears Ernest Dickerson (Demon Knight) got a taste of the vampire genre (with his “Masters of Horror” episode, “The V Word”) and liked it. So much so that, according to BlackFilm, he has come aboard The Un-Dead for producer Jan De Bont through his Blue Tulip Productions and Atchity Entertainment.

Announced last year, The Un-Dead – written by Ian Holt – picks up 25 years after the Bram Stoker novel. The Stoker estate has recognized and given Holt’s screenplay its approval. Although not confirmed, BF adds that actors Monica Bellucci, John Hurt and Javier Bardem are circling roles Lucy, Professor Van Helsing and Dracula, respectively. If Bellucci’s involvement is a lock, this would mark her return to the “Dracula” mythos after a small saucy turn in Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula, albeit she was in a different role then.
