Campbell is Ready for a Vacation

And Richard Stanley’s along for the trip

Last week, Shock learned a private screening was going down at mega-agency CAA for the Bruce Campbell-directed They Call Me Bruce. As it turns out, it was more of a “friends and crew” preview and despite our best efforts to crash the bash, there was no getting in.

But this wasn’t the first time Bruce has shown “Bruce.” According to Film Ick, a public screening was presented in Oregon where the “Evil Dead” trilogy stalwart calls home. Interestingly, a bit of news had sprung from the event.

Film Ick says Campbell is eyeing a starring role in Richard Stanley’s Vacation. In it, the Chin would play a corporate shark who relocates to the Middle East with his stripper girlfriend. They’re just two of many Americans deporting from the land of the free where an “apocalyptic cataclysm” has occurred. Stanley, who directed Dust Devil and Hardware, would shoot the flick for a little over a million. Again, no deal has been finalized, but we’ll let you know if it does.
