Sony and Amazon MGM have announced the release date, title, and more about Hotel Transylvania 5. It is the upcoming entry in the Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez-led franchise. The first one came out in 2012 and was a massive commercial success, leading to the development of its sequels. In January 2026, Keegan-Michael Key, one of the members of the voice cast, confirmed that a fifth movie was coming.

Hotel Transylvania 5, titled The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania, will come out in U.S. theaters on October 8, 2027. Sony is in charge of distribution in North America and other select markets, with Amazon MGM handling the remaining ones. Notably, while the first three movies in the franchise received theatrical releases, the fourth, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, debuted exclusively on Prime Video after several delays to its planned theatrical release due to COVID-19 (via Variety). The movie reportedly did have a limited theatrical release about a month after its Prime Video debut in 2022.
The Hotel Transylvania animated franchise revolves around Count Dracula (Sandler), his daughter Mavis (Gomez), and their friends and family. According to Deadline, the fifth instalment follows Dracula as he “has happily settled into retirement while Mavis takes the reins of the legendary monster hotel. But when a series of spooky and unexplained happenings sends chills through the resort, the Drac Pack embarks on its most spellbinding adventure yet: uncovering the mystery behind the haunting of Hotel Transylvania.”

We’re delighted to partner with Amazon MGM Studios to bring the Drac Pack back to theatres for families around the world.”
