Apple TV has officially renewed the series for a fourth season. This announcement notably dropped before the release of Season 3 on the streaming platform. Season 4 of Tehran is currently in production, with filming taking place in Greece.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck during filming of the new season. One of the creative minds and producers behind Tehran, Dana Eden, died in a hotel room in Athens. According to Reuters, authorities are treating her death as a suicide. This is reportedly based on evidence and testimonies. Moreover, local investigators found pills at the scene, and a coroner also noted bruises on her neck.
Tehran Season 3 came out on Apple TV on January 9, 2026, after originally airing on KAN 11, an Israeli television channel, between late 2024 and early 2025. The third installment comprised eight episodes, just like the previous two seasons. As such, expect the fourth season to also feature the same episode count.
The show has garnered an impressive reception across its three seasons so far. It has a 92% critics’ score and 83% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. On Metacritic, it has a score of 72 based on 12 critic reviews, and a user score of 6.6 based on 73 user ratings.
