General Hospital star Katelyn MacMullen has weighed in on her character Willow’s recent confession. It was one of the most dramatic moments on the soap this week, where Willow finally admitted to her husband, Drew, that it was she who shot him.
Katelyn MacMullen says Willow ‘doesn’t necessarily feel proud’ on General Hospital
Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Katelyn MacMullen has opened up Willow’s confession scene and offered an insight into her character’s mind.
Not only has Willow shot Drew, but she also injected him last month. Reflecting on these drastic decisions, MacMullen has given her thoughts on the reason behind Willow’s violence. “I think part of her is devastated that this is happening, or that it has to happen,” the actress mused.
“She doesn’t necessarily feel proud of what she’s been doing, but she’s felt like she’s kind of had no choice because she’s in survival mode. She believes that [with Drew in the picture], she’s not safe and no one around her is safe, either,” MacMullen continued.
The soap opera star believes that Willow didn’t actually want Drew dead when he shot and injected him. “At first I thought she was doing all of this to try to kill him,” MacMullen shared. “And I do think there’s a part of her that might have even wanted to [do that] to be completely free of him, but now I think she probably just wants him to be incapacitated.”
Now that Willow has managed to get Drew powerless in the hospital, MacMullen reflects on what she will do next. “I think maybe her goal is, ‘Okay, once I get all my ducks in a row and I’m able to rebuild my life, then I can bring him back to the world,’” the actress added.
Needless to say, fans can’t wait to see what the character has in store for future episodes.
